The Bottom Line on These Jeans Could be Your Bottom!

How low cut can jeans go? This low, for now. Posted by Picasa

Fashions in clothing come and go. Will the look you see in the picture catch on?

That depends on whether you and I are willing to throw to the winds what's left of modesty, and actually wear the Zoomp jeans shown at a recent fashion show in Brazil. I can't tell, but I guess you put these "I'm too sexy for my clothes" denims on one leg at a time.

I wonder what they look like from the back. ...

Hmm. ...

Maybe I don't want to know.

The fashion industry is driven by planned obsolesence. Perfectly good clothing draped on hangers in millions of closets gathers dust because it is no longer stylish. In the meantime, designers stich together even more outrageous garb to appeal to fickle consumers. It keeps the dollars circulating and employs a lot of people. And benefits charities as the old clothing is cleaned out of those closets and donated to charitable thrift stores.

Advice to America's youth: Don't wear these unless you want to see your parents and teachers in similar garb.

Prediction: If they do catch on, the makers of complementary products will experience a surge of demand. In particular, shops offering bikini waxes will have more business than they can handle!

Trends come and trends go,the question is which one will take off.The name of the game in retail is the bottom line.Regardless how offensive some might find this or other fashion trends that seem to push the envelope.Fashion and the entities there within will always offend, but isnt that what Madison Ave is all about?Remember the motto in business.."In green we trust".

The scaey thing is that everyone wants to be "trendy" and wear the latest cool things. I see chubby girls wearing those low rider jeans and short t-shirts. They are showing the world their rolls. Now, don't think I don't have rolls of my own...but I sure don't want to show them to the world. I feel sorry for the teenage girls with baby fat who would rather wear whats in syle, than wear clothes that flatter their body.

I call it the " busted can of biscuits" look!

Hope to see some of those jeans around campus. Wait not here in San Antonio, the fatest city in hte US.

Everyone knows the trends hit the big cities first, and then mayber the rest of the cities catch on about six months later. I don't mind for people who look good in them to wear jeans like that, but only in places that would be appropriate. However, if you don't look good or if they don't have your size, please, please don't wear them.

I could care less of what most people wear. In this case though, I would have to say that there should be a limit as to only people who look like the models in these pictures should wear them.

Wow! I'm impressed someone came up with jeans like those. Sad thing is, next you will be seeing the trend on Barbie dolls and little girls growing up to big girls will want the Barbie, then the clothes for themselves. And we wonder how our children get subjected to things like these....

Personally professor I 'ain't into all those fashion trends myself. However, I would say that the idea of a woman weraing those jeans to school would look awsome. I know you said picture your parents in them but I should not have to, because I'm not attracted to my parents but I'am to woman so if they wear this stuff, AWESOME!!!!!

Unfortunately, many of the popular fashion trends are made with only the 5'8'' perfect 115 pound supermodel body type and they get worn by those who should not wear them and by those who should have loved ones who care enough to tell them so. To the manufacturer, it doesn't matter what the consumer looks like in the clothing as long as they purchase the clothing.

I think these jeans are distasteful and I hope that I don't see anyone wearing them out in public. They show too much skin which is already a problem with americans. I know fashion is personal taste, but isn't there some kind of line that shouldn't be crossed.

Yikes! I could go the rest of my life without seeing a guy in zipper pants. Why don't we just stop all of this teasing and just walk around naked?

At 12:03 PM, Blogger CivilTreeHugger said...

This is definitely an intellectual conversation... NOT! How many "normal" people do you see running around in clothes like that? Next to none. Those "clothes" did not even look comfortable and no real person has a body to wear such things. Check out Dove's Campaign for REAL BEAUTY... and see how beautiful real women are: http://www.dove.com/real_beauty/default.asp

And get a grip on what men and women should look like. Save your fantasies for your own precious head.

If those jeans go on the market I think the business for strip bars will decrease.

My my my... and I thought that we had already reached the lowest cut jeans possible. I can state with much certainty that those geasn would not look so good on me...

Oh my is all I can say for these jeans if you want to call them that. Whatever happened to a person being modest? This is almost as bad as a plus size woman/man wearing clothes that are to small for her/his waist size or too low cut for her/his bottom size. I know because I am a plus size woman and would not dare ware anything that did not fit me properly. Today's fashion statements have gotten way out of hand and someone needs to get control of it soon before it will be acceptable for people to go around naked. Then where would we be as a society?

These jeans look great in the picture on a perfect body, but let's get real. How many perfect bodies are walking around out there. I thought I had suffered through it all with having to view someone's boxers because they think the waistband on pants belongs around their thighs? I wear my jeans for comfort, not hanging off my butt and certainly with such little coverage. I never thought bell bottoms and hip huggers would come back, but they have. Why? Who knows, they look so uncomfortable, and if I want to view flab on a regular basis I don't have to leave my mirror, why would I want to look at someone else's? I guess when you are comfortable with who you are, what you wear really doesn't matter. Maybe the style will stay in Brazil.

i happen to think these jeans are awesome. would i wear them??? rt now probably not; however, if i had a body like that model i sure as hell wouldn;t hesitate to put on a pair. let's be realistic, these and other outrageous fashion is not really created or geared toward the everyday consumer. they are geared at hollywood and the stars that reside there.

Another trend comes our way will the consumer buy? I personally think that we are safe from this one. Come on why wear jeans at all. I wonder how they look from behind.

People hardly ever wear the things that you see on the run way. I mean if I saw someone in those so called pants I would die. Those things are horrible. Ha Ha. I am not the most trendy person in the world but I know that those pants are crazy.

I like everyone's comments, but especially Cano's comment about the strip clubs seeing a decrease in business.

Wow, now they took Brittany Spears style and ran off into the deep end. That was disgusting. I would never in my life waist my money on what little pants that are there. I like my pants low waisted but there is a degree where you need to draw the line. If these jeans were to become the high status of fashion, and the market flourishes from what these jeans offer for other businesses, that is good news. The bad news is the people who choose to wear these jeans and those of us who have to see it.

What's the point of wearing jeans that look like a bikini bottom? There are always new trends but this one is really different. I don't think I like it.

I'd much rather be considered unfashionable than wear those ridiculous looking things

I can not imagin anyone ever wearing those haneous outfits. But who knows...does anyone remember those scrunchi shirts that came out about 8 years ago that looks like it could fit on a doll but streched out? Yeah those lasted about 3 months. Haha, the things that those designers come up with is beyond me.

Dr. Ayers you are right...Salons would see a huge demand in bikini waxing if those jeans become popular. I could totally see those jeans being worn for the "HOT BUNS" contest at the near by clubs! Uhm...NOT SO MUCH! At least I hope not...but then again who knows what people are thinking when you see the things they wear.

Ha Ha, I think its funny how many people (including myself) will comment on this post. I don't think that I, personally, will ever wear something like that. For example, the other day I saw a girl that was wearing a T-shirt that read "FREE." I was a few seconds away from slapping her in the face and asking her if she had any self-respect left. Sure, most of you will say that it's just a shirt, but really, WHY WOULD YOU WEAR IT?, Like I stated, I came to the conclusion that it was lack of self-respect. If anyone of you is one of those girls, please, we know you want attention, but that its NOT the right way to get it. I mean sure you will get attention, but it wont be the good one.

I think that these jeans will most likely catch on in Brazil. Brazilians wear very little clothing and it is normal for them! After all, they do have the naked Carnival every year!!! On the other hand, isn't this kind of like wearing a bikini bottom underneath chaps?

At 1:49 PM, Blogger Christian Guajardo said...

WOW! Would I ever be caught wearing that??? Probably not! However, fashion does have a large influence on a lot of peoples lives. I like to keep up with the different trends; however, I don't know to what extreme I would go. But for those wild people, if you've got it, flaunt it!!

At 10:32 PM, Blogger Elvia P. said...

In my opinion, everyone should be able to wear whatever their little hearts desire, however, my concern is that it undermines young girls self esteem.

At 11:27 PM, Blogger Aaron said...

I doubt ill see those around SA. Its funny the extreme that some people go to for attention.

At 6:42 PM, Blogger Mitul said...

Wow those couldnt be more horrific, but to tell you the truth most people do not wear whats go's on the run way, and i highly doubt this style will ever be in stores near you.

At 7:01 PM, Blogger Elizabeth said...

god, i really hope those don't catch on, i don't want to see them on anyone, no matter how nice of a body they have. i wonder how they would go over in a town like new braunfels, you know we've put a kid on probabtion a few years ago because his shirt offended someone, i'm sure those pants would offended someone in new braunfels.

At 11:11 AM, Blogger mcerda said...

I honestly would not wear these particular jeans in public, but then I say to myself, "what is the difference in wearing a bathing suit in public"
I guess if you got it going on and the place was right then go for it! If you are a little on the heavy side then beware, but if your comfortable...then go for it as well.

HA, I guess you knew that this would stir contraversy whenever you put this up there. Well, I believe you are so totally right. Fashion these days is the smaller the better and the more revealing the better. In the age of fake breasts, and baby oiled 12 packs, why not just throw a zipper on a pair of pants and thats it! Well, if you are decent and you have morals as Dr. Ayers mentioned you will never ever even consider putting on a pair of pants like this. The idea that these are even fashionable should be thrown out the door. I wouldn't even want to see a Playboy pinup in a pair of pants like that. The fact of the matter is, if our generation of young people are turning to ideas such as this, what will be left in say 2030 or so? What will people be wearing then, and will they look at our age of people and say that we weren't showing enough? I urge you to walk into Abercrombie and try on a pair of pants that have more holes that have been put there on purpose than if you were working in a lumber yard. A pair of pants there cost at least 50 dollars and for what? I could easily get a pair of Old Navy jeans throw some paint on them and rip them up and it will have the same affect. The only conclusion I can make from this is that what is popular people will most definately buy to fit in, so I mentioned in the Abercrombie example. But, if you do not wear what is popular you will look at being out of date or purhaps unstylish. Don't do it Dr. Ayers, never buy those jeans muchless recommend them to anyone!
